Thank you Bottles. I really appreciate some critique!

It took me a lot of photos to get a photo like this. I found this stone in the basement and took it to my room. I put on my light and tried... and tried... and tried. I also had another stone.. But the pictures weren't pretty.
This one was the best I got....

Beautiful rock Patty! I like the various shades of yellow and orange, nice shot! * As for critique, you might want to brighten the image just a little if you can. I don't know about your editing software but in Photoshop I just did a "Levels" adjustment to brighten it up a bit. I also sharpened it just a little. I put the result in the Demo folder but also put a comparison example on a web page (just temporary) so you could really see the difference the Levels adjustment made.
