...Good Will to Men
by Helen Betts

Okinawa, Japan

Taken at the 1,300,000 Person Peace Illumination Festival in Itoman. There is supposed to be a light for every resident of Okinawa. As it was the scene of the fierce Battle of Okinawa at the end of World War II, the Okinawans take the promotion of peace very seriously.

Well seen and taken, Helen. Love the inclusion of the moon, love your composition. Those lights are just simply amazing. This would make for an excellent greeting card. Well done.

Wonderful shot, Helen. Would love to see this for real. The moon really sets off the whole scene and makes it look more like a scene at sea.

this is wonderful! I have lots of pictures of homes & boats decorated with lights but none are nearly this sharp and crisp.

Helen, I like how all these points of light form the image of a ship at sea. Neat how you caught the moon overhead, just above the globe atop the tree. Nice clarity and good contrast with the black sky. This looks like a real spectacle. Lovely capture and greeting. MFC
