Warner Castle - Rochester, NY

Horatio Gates Warner designed Warner Castle as his home, built in 1854, to resemble the ancestral castle of the Clan Douglas which captivated him during a visit to Scotland. The grounds have a "Sunken Garden" designed by famous landscape architect, Alling S. DeForest. This image was taken inside the sunken garden in one of the caged areas of the courtyard.

You know I struggled over that ring but I figured it added an additional element to scene. A man inprisoned with a love one...to give it sort of a feeling of hope and despair. But your marriage comments made me laugh. I guess it could be construed that way... :)

I love this idea. I really like the hand and the lighting used. great feel to this. I have one question, did you mean to leave the wedding ring on? If the planned feel was for a traditional "prisoner in a dungeon" then I think the ring doesn't belong. however..... If your plan was to go for the Metaphorical "Husband vs Marriage vs Prisoner" feel to the picture. It fits quite nice. anyway. that's my take on your photo. I told my wife my point of view and i got a slap...he he he he...sometimes i purposely look to get myself into trouble...thanks for the photo...very nice.

Good idea, Lou...well composed. I esp like the lighting, almost a vignette that draws attention to the hands. MFC

A very dramatic photo. It makes you wonder who belongs to those hands and how long He has been there. Great composition, exposure and nice and sharp! Bill B
