Please be gentle with me. This is my first time.
After lots of pushing from my dear friend Helen Betts
I finally had the courage to enter an image, that was
the easy part, understanding what low key high key meant
was a different story.

I will try to explain how I got this image. Being new to photography, especially digital photography, I have got quite a lot to learn. I was actually playing with flash settings, and because I haven't got a bounce flash was placing bits of white paper in front and going crazy with what came out. Eventually this happened quite by luck. The satin looking fluid is just melon water. I must thank everyone for their interest and giving me the interest to carry on, especially Helen.

Rob, I'm not saying this just because we are friends (nevermind that I've never even heard of you before), but this photo is awesome. The deep deep blood-red, combined with the texture, the line, the composition, all combine to do something pretty wonderful. --Nancy/JoseNoway

Rob, I'm not just saying this because we're friends and slave away together at the newspaper every day (and evening and weekend) -- but I really do think this is an excellent image and good for this Challenge. I'm glad I was a little bit instrumental in getting you interested in digital photography and am sure you'll do quite well at it if this is any indication. Helen
