These ladies worked at the fish market I always went to in Naha to photograph fish. I got to know the one on the left pretty well as I went there so often. She used to always arrange her brilliantly colored fish very artistically for me. I put this picture into a guidebook on Okinawa that I edited, accompanying an article I had written about the wonderful people of Okinawa. I gave her a copy of the book right before I left there, and she was absolutely thrilled to see her picture in print.
