Me thinks the white ones are Policippes polymerus better known as the common gooseneck barnacle. The dark ones are Mytilus californicus (California mussels). The little volcano looking dudes are Balanus glandula (acorn barnacles) I think. . . All you marine biologists out there correct me. (I learned about these guys in the marine invertebrate wars) ;-) CindyD

Are your sure the white ones aren't barnacles? That's what they look like to me. The dark ones are mussels. Ann C.

I didn't even know they were muscles :) haha. I know the dark ones are but the light ones I'd never seen till that day.
