Intersecting Circles
*by Ann Chaikin

My kitchen

In spite of appearances, this image is in color. I noticed the shadows and reflections made by sunlight hitting a glass vase on my kitchen counter and decided to do a series of photos of the phenomenon.

Ann this is a very interesting image -- I love the intricate shadows and the sepia presentation. Good eye! -- El-See

On second thought, I like the image better this way too!! :-) I tried it in a horizontal flip and... just didn't have the same "flow" to it. Mark J

Interesting idea Mark. Just tried it and found I liked it better like this. I think it's because my eye seems to light on the vase and linger there first and then move to the shadow. Then it comes back to the vase, left to right. (Might have nothing to do with this... lol but I do like it this way better.) Ann

Nicely seen, Ann. Great circles / abstract here. Have you (*) considered flipping the image horizontally? I'm not sure why but, my mind wants to see the glass on the left leading the eye to the shadow on the right.
(we all kind of learn to read left to right, don't we? :-) Mark J
