Koinobori

These are koinobori, or paper carp, which are hung all over Japan for Boy's Day, May 5. I just happened across this scene (so no tripod!), and was really taken with the way hundreds of koinobori were stretched across the waterway. When I almost fell into the water from the wall I had climbed, my husband just wanted to know if my camera would be covered by our insurance in that event...
