Torii

This is a torii, or gate, that is usually found in front of Shinto shrines. They're very common in mainland Japan, but as Okinawa was devastated by the Battle of Okinawa at the end of World War II, there are very few remaining here. This one is in my neighborhood, but the shrine is now used a some kind of martial arts dojo. Silhouette contrast emphasized and lens flare added in PS.
