Thanks, folks! I appreciate the input. I decided to go B&W because I couldn't seem to get a satisfactory image in color. I'm somewhat new to PS, so there is a very good chance I am not aware of a technique at my disposal that I could've used to get the image I was aiming for in color.

Yes more interesting in BW. I like the tones of the hand and shadow.
