Thanks Mike., The frame is actually the door to the wood stove. and the fire was shot through glass. this was actually harder to get right than you might think fire being bright and all. I'm not sure I could have gotten the flames this way with a fireplace because with the stove I can close the damper and the flames are sort of slow motion. I never would have though 1/20 at ISO1600 F2.8 would be required for this shot but it's true.

Glenn, I love the way you composed/cropped this to form a frame around the fireplace. Nice catch of the flames and the wood turning to embers. Cozy and warm...just what we need on a cold winter's night. Nice photo! MFC
