Thanks for the comments. Melanie, I didn't have to get her to pose, she loves to look at the fire. She likes to watch the fireplace in my other entry, too - she puts her front paws up on the ledge, and practically climbs in.

I love this, how did you get her to pose 'just so'? --Melanie

This is great, Katherine, just a perfect capture. I love that little bit of tail sticking out as well :-) and the bone behind him.

Great shot! I love the warm tone. The fire is much more interesting than TV.

I guess animals also have a fascination with fire... seems to be more than wanting the heat. Very nice capture, Katherine.

Very well composed, Katherine..I .love the tones of this scene and the way the Ridgeback faces the fire. She really seems to be enjoying it. Good idea...and good title too :) Nice photo! MFC

Thanks for the comment, Deb - this is my brother's dog - she's a purebred Ridgeback. They have another one, also purebred, who was born without a ridge.

This "pup" is certainly captivated by the fire. Did someone accidentally throw his favorite toy into the flames? He's(?) a big dog! Ridgeback or Ridgeback mix? I want to see a face!!! Oh and BTW, Great capture of a heartwarming scene.---deb
