The End of the Street
by Franky2005

This is a very old shot that I have in my files as a print and it was always one of my favourites. The exposure was damn hard and there was a lot of tweaking required in the dark room. The cam was my first SLR which I have used. A Voigtländer Ultramatic, completely mechanical. I had three lenses 35, 50 and 135.

Certainly a scene which I would love to shoot again with my R1 and then apply all the tools I have available on a computer. If you know my more recent work, I am sure you know why I like this one. :-)

Great composition - I love the black/white choice, and the moody, abandoned look! It looks like nobody ever goes there - the concrete is deteriorating, but there's no trash.

The repro is done fairly with brute force. R1 with a bounced flash from the print. The negative is still available, but I do not have a scanner for it. Thanks jp and Bill for your comments.

That hazy factory scene in the background has an unmistakable film look to it that would be very difficult to replicate digitally, Frank. That's what makes shots like this irreplaceable. Did you do this from the print or the neg?

A nice shot. It invokes many different feelings viewing it. A very good backdrop for a portrait shot of someone
