Thanks bottles, I've had surprisingly good success with a lot of my old b&w negs as well as slides using a non-state of the art epson flatbed scanner. I like resurrecting the older stuff because it confirms a continuity in my shooting style.

A scan of a old negative? Wow, that's fantastic jp; sounds like a fun thing to try. The composition and your use of natural lighting, in the original shot, was excellent.

Thank you, Markjay, Kathy & Martin. Actually it's not a b&w conversion, Martin, it's a scan of a pretty old negative which proves (to me, anyway) that Photoshop beats darkroom manipulation hands down.

Ditto what Kathy said! Great catch and b&w conversion, with a lot of interesting elements in just the right place to give the overall scene a sense of "order amidst the chaos" ;)

I like how the light illuminates the interior just enough to set a mood.
