Jan - June: Baek Su

In Korean, "Baek Su" means planned unemployment. Basically, that's what I've been doing for the past three months, bumming around and spending my savings (now almost gone).

My last day of work was January 16th. From then, I spent roughly a month in Seoul (but no pics...oops). Didn't mean to stay so long, but just couldn't leave (missed one flight, got another changed to be able to go to a wedding, finally got out on my 3rd try).

Finally I left the peninsula on Valentine's day, February 14th. Went back to my parent's place in VA, shoveled some snow and had my camera break. I spent some time catching up w/ old HS and college friends, there in VA and a little bit on trips to DC and NYC. Then I flew out to LA to visit my brother for two weeks. Still no camera.
On the third leg, I hit Vancouver, British Columbia and finally wised up. If I couldn't use my digi-camera, I'd just get pics another way, by buying a bunch of disposables. Had a great time in Canada, hiking and climbing and playing tons of disc.

After Canada, I caught a flight back to VA. Then back to Seoul. Hung out for two weeks, then off to Korea's beautiful Jeju-do (for the 3rd Int'l Ulti tourney). Played a lot, had some fun, but couldn't sit for too long. Had to get on a plane and head out one more time.... This time to BORACAY!
It was my 3rd trip to the island, 5th to the Philippines, but this was the first time I really appreciated the visit. Spent about a week in Bora, then a few days stumbling about Manila. Can't begin to describe how generous everyone was and how welcome I felt. Home away from ....wherever I had last left all my junk...

Flew back to Korea for (what I thought was) the final time and started to get settled in. Found a place to stay, started looking for work (sort of). Played some good disc... Unfortunately, a family emergency forced a trip back to CA. Although the circumstances were more than slightly depressing, it was good to get the whole family together. Much love all around. There less than a week, it was time for me to return home and prepare for the upcoming Shanghai tourney...

After having made it to the finals, KUNT once again faltered. but still, we are the people's heroes. KOREA KOREA KOREA

that was the final adventure. at least for now.
What a trip it's been. what a trip.

If there's one thing I learned though: it goes on, it never ends.
