gallery: The St Vitus cathedral
Interior and exterior views. It's amazing what one can build given a few centuries! Be advised that a (very cheap) permit is required to take photos inside the cathedral - this permit also covers photography in the rest of the Hradčany area. I got my permit in the ticket shop by the cathedral entrance.

Entering Hrad from the north (getting off the streetcar at the nearest stop) one enters the castle area through this side gate.

Vladislavsky sal, Stary Kralovsky Palac
The old royal court hall. It also has a very practical, shallow stairway off to the left side of the far end of the hall, where one can ride one's horse straight from the St.George square into the hall!

Bazilika sv. Jiri
This small church, St.George, is directly opposite the St.Vitus cathedral across the St.George Square. In summer concerts are given here from time to time - they are a lot more expensive than the more touristy concerts down-town but the acoustics in this church are quite excellent.

Looking towards the altar. This room has excellent acoustics for concerts.
Inside the St. George church. In concert, the audience is seated behind the camera position, while the orchestra sits on the raised mezzanine above the crypt.
