I'd been wanting to get to Hampi for years. And so I finally made it this year. It was nice, but I enjoyed many other cities in the first bit of this summer more. The temples in Hampi are in a very bad state, quite crumbly, which is fine. But it was disappointing. Badami, which has temples 1500 years older are in much better shape. But it was fun in Hampi. You can motorbike around the villages and it's very atmospheric.
Never managed to make it to these, what I think are elephant stables
Nice group of Marathas

There was some kind of festival going on, with these tribal people
Good face
Harsh
Holy man
At the festival
Couple of local guys
Another good face
A few cows
Great face, reminded me of Sareh
Prowling around the ruins
In case there was any confusion as to Hampi's status
Stone chariot
I climbed a big hill, took some photos of the town
How I feel most days
A village right next to the ruins
A very nice south Indian temple
Had a clear sky, good light, so I took a bunch of photos
One of the great old temples
Bad light
So I went to the other side and got good light
The main temple. Was told it is the third highest gopuram in India
Rather large
Wandering cow
Big old door
Countryside
That third highest gopuram
Nandi
Red doors
As previously noted, I'm a big fan of Kannada script
