Eagle Creek Trail

This trail is not actually a part of the Pacific Crest Trail.
But, it is an incredibly scenic alternate route that nearly every
PCT thru-hiker opts to take. Located just 3 miles West of the town of
Cascade Locks in Oregon on the Columbia River Gorge.

Why I chose to go sleep outside on a night with record cold temperatures
is anybody's guess, but the scenery was both invigorating and spectacular.

Wow, spectacular. It took a lot of guts to hike that trail in winter, it's treacherous enough in summer. I never made much past Punchbowl - my favorite, but always meant to get all the way to Tunnel falls. Maybe next time I'm in the area I'll use these photos for inspiration to get me all the way to Tunnel falls. Beautiful. David Haak The Netherlands (formerly of Estacada, OR)
