Haines, Alaska - Road Trip from Seattle 2009

I set off on a two week photography excursion 'solo road trip' from the Seattle area to Haines, AK.
While I drove up to Alaska, I gave my car and myself a rest and took the AK Marine Hwy back to Bellingham, WA via the Alaska State Ferry.
My daily routes up to Haines took me to Prince George, BC day one - to Dease Lake, BC day two - to Whitehorse, Yukon, day three - and then to Haines, AK on day four.
The Cassiar Hwy and the Haines Hwy are two of the most spectacular scenic routes I've ever been on.
The highlights of my trip were seeing the black bear and her three cubs, the bull moose at mile 12 on the Haines Hwy and the bald eagles around Haines.

Fantastic images. Been there on several motorcycle trips and the scenery cannot get any better anywhere. Love the animal shots, my favorite.

Shari, We've been to Haines three times now and the excitement does not end. Great pictures, it's nice to have the opportunity to get such nice pictures and memories.

Wow, Shari this is amazing! I think it is fabulous that you went on this amazing Journey. This is just a reminder to me why my Brother and his family have lived in Alaska for so many years. Whenever I visit, I am always struck by the beauty of it! You truly captured the beauty in your photographs. Thank you for sharing.

Gorgeous, Shari. Absolutely love all of them – the perspective on the Red Onion Saloon really jumps at me, and the view from the beach by your cabin gave chills up my arms (good kind). That bear cub in the tree is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. Great, cool shots.
