Bald Eagles from NE and the Canadian maritime, congregate along the lower stretches of the Merrimack River (Amesbury and Newburyport) to feed in the open water during the winter months. Eagle Watching is a hugely popular winter activity along the lower stretches of the Merrimack, with folks coming from all over eastern NE to view these birds.
