Milky Way from M16 to M8 and beyond

Lockwood Valley, CA

This shot covers a large chunk of the Milky Way near the Galactic Core. At the top is M16, followed by M17 and on down to around mid way with M20 and M8 and a host of other named items. At some point I may put up an overlay identifying the major points.
This wide field shot was taken with a Canon 85mm f1.8 lens at f4, and is 10 x 4 minute ISO 400 exposures stacked and processed with ImagesPlus V2.75 Beta 2. This was taken with a 1D Mark II and no dark frames were subtracted and no noise reduction, just stacked and stretched with a little color enhancement of the larger nebulas with Photoshop.
