Touching Earth 08_09_07.jpg

This is the last image I'll post from our little trip.

I'm liking how these turned out but I really haven't gotten the image I had in my head before we headed down to the area burned by the fire.

If time permits, maybe we can get down there one more time before too much vegetation returns.

Seriously, this is some of your best work to date. While seeing Wanda in various states of undress is always a good thing, I just love the concept of this shoot! I really think you should make a series out of it and go back in intervals as the growth comes back.
I love that Mother Nature's face is not seen in the last two photos, it makes her mysterious. And the poses are so loving toward her child.
Wanda, you are amazing in your versatility. Your long, curly blond hair is perfect for this series.
Please consider making more of this series. I think it might make a great set for a coffee table book.

There is no question that you both have moved to a new level of artistic beauty in these last few shots. Wanda, as we all know is a natrual beauty whose charismatic spirit is always wonderfully captured by her talented (and amazingly blessed) husband. These shots, however, truly reflect the breathtaking youthfulness of a most amazing woman. The funny thing Bill, is that even though many of us envy you for the voluptuous woman at your side, there are just as many, like myself, that envy you for your keen sense of photographic talent! Kudos to you both....and Wanda...you forever continually amaze me!

A younger and thinner model?????? Geez Wanda, you certainly fit the stereotype of women, that no matter how beautiful they are, they NEVER see themselves as beautiful. Either that or you're just plain fishing for compliments, which I can't bring myself to believe. You are absolutely BREATHTAKING in these photos. Bill, please post any of the photos you took from that day, they are wonderful.

Go for it! I'm ready to see some more of these!

I cant hold out anymore!
i really love these images, the stark burned off landscape, contrasted by the warm living flesh, in my mind i conjure a symbolism of the life cycle... the landscape is baren and dead..... yet this lovely lady symbolizing fertility and life that with the help of man {hehe} bringS forth new life...
so, as any good mathematician will declare "GO FORTH AND MULTIPLY"
well that is the emotions i see in it... i really like the idea you used of tweeking the white balance...
so again Thanks for sharing... regards to Wanda also

Wanda in a museum!
Jim,I think you need to rewrite that comment.

Not only post another image, but go back to the site and get the "image that is in your head" plus a dozen more! I would put these into a new gallery and call it your fine art stuff. These really are amazing and belong in a museum! You have taken your photography to a whole new level with this series.

Speaking only for myself, possibly one more picture would not tax my ability to concentrateon the photo...I say what the heck, go ahead and try, gosh darn it, if my mind wanders it wanders, but based on the previous photos, those little mind wanderings are rather pleasant anyway.

These photos are spectacular so I am pretty sure you can go to this well as often as you like. I love scorched earth backdrop with Wanda and the processing is just amazing. Really really good stuff. I am jealous of your proximity to this amazing scene.

I do have one taken as we hiked up to the rock I could post. What does everyone think ... is going to the same well four days in row ok?
Guest 09-Aug-2007 14:45
Wonderful again! Great composition and use of light. Sounds like you may have to post one with hiking boots, Bill! Voted

Go back for more? . . . .better take a younger, thinner, more cooperative model next time! (smirk)You are gunna owe Me big time if I go back and wander around in My birthday suit in the soot again. (noticing the bottoms of My feet in this image). I still like the one with My hiking boots on. (silly grin)

Love this series -- the color, the crispness, the frozen moment, the beauty in the cold landscape... really cool.
Bill 09-Aug-2007 11:30
These two photos are stunning. They are archetypal and timeless. Well played, Well played. Thank you.

I know what I'm coming back as, in my next life!!!
