This is a great example of what folks in the southeast near the Great Smokey Mountains call Bear Bait!!!!! We sometime refer to it as stupid human tricks!!!!

Yes as someone stated in a previous post this bear has no fear and that's the one you've really got to watch closely...... It can get really nasty before you know what happened. We just lost two female hikers/campers a couple of months ago due to this type of action in the wild.

Oh and by the way very nice capture Bill ......Hmmmm Wanda where were you when all this was going on? I hope you were hiding out behind Bill? RIGHT?

Some people are ignorant or they just don't care.

Too close??? Yes, your caption is accurate, and as Richard mentioned, the bear has no fear of humans, but sometimes when I see a shot like this I feel bad for the animal. Yes, I'm a hypocrite, I would love to be this close to a bear in the wild so I could get a great shot, but sometimes a shot like this sure makes you wonder about what the animal is going thru.

Your caption is right on the mark -- Too close! This bear has no fear of humans, and it's the fearless ones that turn nasty.

Take care!
