Wanda11_05_04c.jpg

OK...this one pretty much sucks. I didn't have time to make the adjustments needed. Wanda had other commitments this evening; so, I only had a few minutes this afternoon to shoot. I don't give directions well. I'm posting a photo I'm really not happy with.

An outtake from a day where they were all outtakes http://www.pbase.com/image/35991469

Poor Bill, I just couldn't get it right this day. I was in a huge hurry that day and simply didn't feel like putting forth the effort to keep trying until I got it right. It was having days like these that makes it all the more incredible that we actually finished the project without missing a day!

Im a big fan but I think this picture is awful, swop it for the out-take.
Jim McKinlock06-Nov-2004 23:32
You're being to hard on yourself Bill, a lot of the people that visit here everyday would be thrilled to have such a beautiful model and the skill to take a shot half this good. keep up the good work. Jim

i like it!!!!

I think the model is fine....OK make that, damn fine. Problem was totally bad direction and maybe poor concept all from behind the camera.
Wanda 06-Nov-2004 15:56
Now see what happens when you don't use a professional model? When the subject is camera-shy you end up with a stiff, awkward, awful pose! (cringing) I much prefer the picture from the other day where I am acting like a goof-ball! (looking at Bill's camera today and runnnnnnnnnnnnning the other direction!)

Guest...again that is pretty over the top but thanks for the thought. I'm pretty sure most of the "photographic world" would agree this isn't up to par.

Come on this picture is unbalanced in composition. The problem is the low right arm position. Light is OK but not great. To make it right she needs to raise her right arm to balance the left or drop her left elbow to balance the right. The light that is lighting her hair would be better if lowered to light more of her left side.

Here is the downside of PAD. If I hadn't committed to take and post a picture each and everyday this picture would have never seen the light of day.

Bill, there's NO WAY this sucks...LOL. This is awesome. Wanda couldn't appear in a bad picture! I enjoy your work every day as a part of my routine.

Wanda & Bill, your self-perceived WORST days are better than the rest of the photographic world's BEST days. Thanks for your continuing efforts that highlight such natural beauty (Wanda's AND Mother Nature's) as conceived by your sense of imagination, love and humor.

I echo the other comments. Wanda is in the picture, how bad can it be?
Eric Hewis06-Nov-2004 09:21
At least you've kept up your PAD, something I didn't manage. I prefer the'out-take, Wanda doesn't look happy or comfortable in this pose.
Ian Morehouse06-Nov-2004 08:44
Just consider yourself lucky to have a willing model. My family runs a mile when the camera comes out.
Lou Giroud06-Nov-2004 08:03
Don't mind, Bill, even if you had no time to manage the lighting in a better way in this one, Wanda lets anyone forget those little faults and the common people don't see this anyway.
A good shot of a nice woman and realy nothing to be ashame or upset about. Honnestly, this is a real good shot and can be shown with pride, Mr. Bates.

The hand and arm placements on both shots seem awkward to me. Also looks like she is trying to give herself a chiropractic manuever. I think it would've been better to pose her arms and hands more relaxed, maybe resting her hands on her thigh. As a contrast to her voluptuous body, she could've looked very demurely down and to one side. Very close and all other aspects are wonderful!

Same comments echo here, except this pose is even better.
Her curves are amazingly captured here.
Your body is amazing Wanda.
The hands/arms are the problem again.
Don't worry about it. I'm my own worst critic as well, we all are.

Gee, I wish that my "bad photo" days looked this good! I like your background!
