Wanda07_23_04a.jpg

Wanda and I spent the first night of our little trip at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. This was taken at twilight looking out onto the Las Vegas Strip. It was about 110 degrees Fahrenheit and Wanda's makeup was just melting when we took this photo but we had a great time.

We had a great room; so, we used it for a studio for a little while and here are a couple of the photos http://www.pbase.com/image/31895445 and http://www.pbase.com/image/31895474

This shoot was another one of those difficult ones! It was so HOT and I could feel Myself sweating and SEE the beads of sweat developing on My face. However, the most difficult part for Me was posing in front of all the people milling about that evening. What you can't see off camera are the people stopping to watch Bill take My picture. I don't think I will ever conquer the nervousness I feel when Bill is taking My picture out in public.

Bill, this is an amazingly sharp photo for a 3 second exposure. How did Wanda stay so still? Colors, lighting, everything is great. The link photos are more "fun", but this is really a great photo of the strip. Do you love that restaurant row below the Venetian? A great restaurant every day for a week...all in a row! Hope you had a fun trip.

Nimbo, to increase the depth of field (how much of everything that is in focus and sharp) you need to stop down the aperture. With the wide angle lens I'm using when stopped down to f/11 to f/16 and focusing on something about 6 feet away. Everything from 2 or 3 feet out to infinity will be sharp. You may want to study up on Depth of Field and Hyper-focal Distance. I'm sure some book or website can explain it much better than I can.

Wonderful richness in this photo...You are definitely enjoying shooting Raw Images....

Your room on your vaction had an excellent view...

Very nice sets of photos from your trip...I look forward to seeing what the two of your put together each day...

Your work and that of many others inspire me to shoot more than I have for some time and return to my first Love...The camera and working with models...

Thank you ... Nice to have you as a neighbor here in the west...

This is an amazing shot, the colors and sharpness are really stunning! How do you get the picture to be sharp in all it's depth? I'm still trying to figure out how to get my pictures to be just half as sharp as yours. Maybe you can take a quick look at some of my photoshttp://www.pbase.com/nimbo

I seem to be able to catch a bit of the vivid colours that can be experienced here in Greenland, but i think i might be using the wrong settings. Can you help me?

Grats on making a really amazing gallery and for sharing it:o) -Kris
