Bill it looks to be in great shape! Is it chambered for 9MM or something less? IT looks a bit more like the .380 ( which I think may be more of a "modern round" than the 9mm but I could be wrong on that.

This Walther is a WWII 1941 production pistol. The serial number is such that it may have been SS issue. So it is more likely "show me your papers" and "we have ways of making you talk" not, "Bates, Bill Bates".

One of the first guns I got for my wife was a PPK. It recoiled too much for her and stovepiped a lot so we settled for a revolver. I can hear you now, "Bates, Bill Bates"
