Looking for a coffee shop we stumbled on another tourist sign and consulting the guide book took off once again in search of the sights. Arrived at the car park ,obayed the signs that said carparking and started up the hill, 2/3 of the way up, sweating and huffing like a wounded pig, we passed the upper carpark- are we having fun yet, kept plodding along in the rain till the summit, joined the slow moving bus tour group trying to get in to the complex, not out of a desire to to see these wonders , just to get out of the rain. The complex was about the same size and shape as all the others we had seen ( think I am over the tomb thing). From what I have been told the Thracians were a blood thirsty lot- the crops fail sacrifice a virgin, the crops flower sacrifice a virgin, the rains come , sacrifice a virgin, the rains don't come the sacrifice thing again. no wonder they died out.
