...This is a complete set of factory 73' RSR Steel Fender Flares which were evidently not professionally installed on an early street 911. Since the 911 RSR steel fender flares are extremely rare and no longer available, the owner of the 911 contacted my friend Mark Spraker to take them off and later made them available for sale on eBay. It would be very interesting to see a detailed side-by-side look at the 73' RSR steel fender flare reprodutions that are now available for sale in this website https://pbase.com/slidevalve911rsr/image/72953380 and then compared them to the factory original fenders here https://pbase.com/slidevalve911rsr/image/126610033 - Please keep in mind the different camera angles used when taking the photos of these two parts. After my visual examination, it confirms my believe that the reproductions are in fact of excellent quality.
Please check out these photos and also the comments below from Paul, the owner of the parts and eBay Seller.
Porsche Carrera RSR Steel Fender Flares – OEM Set of 4
This auction is for a complete set, right and left, 9” front and 11” rear, 1973 factory Porsche RSR flares. These flares were removed with resale in mind, and they are in really nice shape. The fenders were removed with the flares, so that the flares would not lose any metal. Here is a link to more pictures showing the flares as they were installed on the previous car: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48852543@N05/sets/72157623711886897/
Obviously, they were not installed on the brown car very well, which is why I decided to have them redone. In the process, I decided to sell the real RSR flares and go with aftermarket turbo flares.
