Update:
On October 9th 2009 11:30 UT (7:30am EDT) the LCROSS mission's Centaur upper stage rocket will
impact the crater Cabeus, followed by a second impact of the LCROSS mothership four minutes later.
It is hoped that the impact plume will be visible to amateurs in western North America and the
Pacific using scopes of around 10" aperture.
