An highly successful summer tour we pioneered in 2015, a one-centre
holiday staying at Kondor Eco-Lodge in the scenic Kiskunsag National Park.
Less well known than the similar Hortobagy, it teems with wildlife and preserves parts
of the once continuous Eurasian steppe, the so called puszta.
It hosts one of the biggest populations of Great Bustards on the continent and is
also home to Saker Falcon, Eastern Imperial Eagle, Pygmy Cormorant and Syrian
Woodpecker. The number of European Rollers, European Bee-eaters, Red-footed
Falcons and Lesser Grey Shrikes is staggering! The tour is a general natural history
holiday and in early July we can expect to see the special birds of the area as well
as a good number of butterflies and dragonflies which include several exotic species such as Lesser Purple Emperor, Cardinal, Yellow-spotted Emerald and Large White-faced Darter.
Here some pictures from the participants of the 2018 tour.
