Despite the efforts of the crew, the smaller boat refused to start again. Two of them remained on the stricken vessel while the rest of us piled into the one that was still in working order, and we motored on until we located a suitable strip of shoreline to set up camp for the night. Dennis, our captain, helped us unload our equipment and then sped off to rescue the stranded boat.
The tents were lightweight, probably only good for summer use, and remarkably easy to set up once we were shown how to do it. I hadn't slept in a tent in years since I'm not really one for "roughing it," so I had to get proof that I had, in fact, done it.
