Kauai has thousands of wild chickens. They're everywhere. In the grocery store parking lot, walking around town, on the beach, in the rain forest. Since Kauai is the only island that doesn't have any natural predators that can kill the chickens (outside of cats and dogs) they have flourished. The mongooses keep them in check on the other islands.
