Lightning caused fire in Tonto National Forest,
four miles north of Superior, Arizona.
Started July 18, 2005.
Contained July 27, 2005.
Burned a total of 9,750 acres.
Fire is terrible and damaging, but also nesscessary. It is part of the four elements that the ground is made to sustain. It removes debris, is a natural pest control, and creates rich nutrients for new life to grow in. Remember the legend of the Phoenix.
Great fire images... I admire your captures in Tonto. I took a few AZ fires myself. Wished I'd captured more... Interesting how AZ photographers think the same... Some I've taken on PBase can be found at:http://www.pbase.com/azleader/wildfire
