Sticker appeared on our doorstep tired and full of cactus stickers

A strange cat appeared on our doorstep on a hot summer day, June 14. The poor cat was exhausted, scruffy and dirty, full of cholla stickers. Strange thing was she wanted to go in the house through the kitty door like this was her home. The kitty door was locked shut at the time so she couldn't. We took pity on the cat, gave her water and pulled the stickers out of her. She was extremely gentle and patient as we pulled as many as we could out of her. My nephew was there visiting from Washington and he helped too. She got better as the days went by. A few days after we found her on our doorstep my sister found a cat carrier siting across the street under an ironwood tree, its door open. We knew Sticker's story then, she'd been abandoned, dropped off in our neighborhood at the hottest time of year. We kept her at our house and she quickly got used to our other cats. As she recovered from her traumatic experience she filled out and her coat became shiny and fluffy--Sticker turned out to be a beautiful cat!
