Boyce Thompson Arboretum Storm Damage March 2006

On March 11 of this year it snowed at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. It was fun and pretty seeing the snow, but what happened afterward was devastating and heartbreaking. The weight of the snow caused the limbs of many trees in the park to break. There were so many broken limbs it was hard to believe what I was seeing. Some trees completely fell over. Over the next few days BTA Staff and volunteers worked hard to clear up the wreckage and make the trails clear and safe for BTA visitors.
If you'd like to see photos of the snow that caused the damage click on the link at the top of this page that says Boyce Thompson Arboretum 2006.
