High Water
Rondout Creek
As a teenager I lived just below this point and in 1955 we were flooded out. This shot was taken after storms had deposited over 12 inches of rain the week before. It contrasts the stability of this house, and the hill behind, with the still troubled waters and sky, and the two trees in the middle which are being undermined (three already gone). The sunlight breaking through, which lights this scene, is a reminder of the hope we must all have as we face trials.
