This shot is a demonstration of what I can now do with my SD9. Note that it does not use the better light gathering of the SD10 or a fast lens.
The only light sources are 2 shaded 60w lamps. Very poor.
The result is exactly what it really looks like, esp color.
I took this by:
1. Set custom WB
2. Exp comp +3.
3. Spot meter on the lamp
and AE lock
4. focus and hold on cactus
5. Frame and shoot
Unfortunatly, exif data was lost becasue i ran image through basic PS "reduce grain" filter to smooth the wall.
This photo proves (to me, at least!) that the SD9 can be used to get very good natural light shots, indoors, at night, by using good DSLR technique.
The only limitation was the green of the Cactus. Sigma/Foveon still needs to increase green sensitivity while decreasing green noise.
Still, I'm very satisfied, and if you stood in my liv.rm, you would be too!!!
