Ritzy is a very special puppy. She has a stubborn streak which makes her a true survivor. It appears that it has to be her way or no way. At her first show, she decided that she did not want to walk on my left side which is the proper way for a dog to go around the ring. No matter what I did to try to convince her, she insisted on walking on my right side. So the first day of the show, we had to explain to the judges that she thought she was Brittish that day and felt she needed to walk on the opposite side. Then, as if she just woke up the next morning and decided, "OK, now I am American again", she decided to walk on the correct side and she won Best Female.

She is most likely still here today because of that stubborn streak. Shortly after I got her, she became very ill. It was her stubborn will to live and refusal to give up that kept her alive. Thank God for stubborn dogs. :-)
