Lucy Needs New Clothes

So when I got Lucy home, I sat her in the living room.
She was wearing a knit dress and it was covered with spider webs and dried leaves. Had she been abused or what?

So I stripped off her dress and threw it in the washer, and then I thought about a dress I had bought years ago. It was a Laura Ashley dress... pink floral with a lacy collar from Good Will.
That would be perfect for Lucy; however, before I got a chance to get her dressed, my husband came home to find Lucy sitting in the living room within view of the front door, stark naked!
That's when the fun began!

He had a fit and wondered what anyone might think should they come to the front door or look in and see a naked woman sitting there in plain sight.
So I got Lucy dressed and I think she felt quite beautiful at that moment.

And then we had the discussion... where is she going to sit? Of course, I thought she was fine right there
but the decision was made to put her on the wicker couch at the top of the stairs in the loft and that is where she stayed for months on end.

The previous comment is quite fascinating and I had no idea that this might be the case. So now I suppose, Lucy might indeed have a family tree! And yes, I will discreetly check for a maker's mark!

love your use of the manikin for adding a little humor to the places where you go. I want to commend you on the price you got for her, this is not a every day manikin, and may have cost up to $2000 dollars when new. Such manikins are often taken from life and therefor there may be a real life "Lucy" walking around somewhere. There is a makers mark on her somewhere .... on the feet or on the small of the back perhaps that would tell you about her maker and could lead you to more information. Wonderful shots and byline. Thanks j

You have to understand that if a neighbor happened to knock the door, look in, and see Lucy, how would I explain it?

Dressed or naked, Lucy is still so charming... what a funny story :^)
