were the dogs. They are everywhere. In the streets, in the countryside, walking along mountain roads, just everywhere. They don't really bother people, but they are there in a flash if you open a packet of biscuits :-)
We didn't see any savagery from any which was amazing considering they all live 'wild', being fed when someone feeds them.
