Thanks John, for the suggestion. I appreciate all helpful comments. I did another version of this cropped to place the light in a ROT position, but I didn't like the picture as much and nobody would have been able to figure out what it was

Aha, so this is what it is! Good tones and shapes. I'd suggest you look for opportunities to put the focal point near one of the rule of thirds focal points, ie a third of the way in from the edges, top left, top right, bottom left or bottom right. The bright light catches my attention here, so it would be a good candidate for ROT focus point placement. Central subjects sometimes work, but I find it always handy to think about ROT placement as an option when composing and when cropping.
