Lesson Four
Apple Painting #1

This is 1 of 2 Apple paintings for Lesson 4, click on NEXT to see another painting.

Used the new color set I made to paint the apple, used the Dirty Brush Mode, Artist's Oils Brush & the Oily bristle Variant.
After I finished the apple I used Effects -- Tonal Control -- Brightness/Contrast and Posterize (7). For the shadow from the
apple and the dark blue background, I selected the shadow & filled it using the paint bucket with a medium tan color. For the
dark blue, selected the area (not including the apple) and filled it with the paint bucket, the tan shadow from the apple is now
a darker blue. For the light blue at the top of the image, used the paint bucket to fill the whole image with a lighter color blue.
Ran the eraser over the apple to remove the light blue, and also used the eraser to remove some of the light blue color of the background.
I used the 2B Pencil to make some final touch ups to the entire image, using various pencil sizes, opacities and colors (selecting the colors
from the image itself with the eyedropper). Font is Riverside.

other sizes: small medium original auto
