I am awed by the symbolism of this image. It seems like a cold, sanitized world. The staircase looks like an abstracted ziggurat, its harsh lines emphasizing the man's obviously fatal descent. The woman is huddled in a gesture of despair; she knows there is no escape, there is no exit. And what is the solution? Some turn to the opium of the people. Alas, its heady, intoxicating fumes are often lethal. Bravo Kal!!!
