Activated on June 30, 1952 at Tampa, FL, in the
United States Army Reserve

Deactivated in 1959

Rreactivated August of 1967
Regular Army at its current home of Fort Bragg, NC.

1980 the 514th Signal Company (TROPO) was assigned to the
battalion were it remained until 1996.

Provides rapidly deployable, worldwide contingency
communications support for the joint task force (JTF)
headquarters, XVIII Airborne Corps headquarters and
major subordinate commands.
