Diving Albany

I went diving on a number of days whilst in Albany, with a company called AlbanyDive.com, whom I can highly recommend. I was impressed with the sites that were on offer, and with the colourful coral and other exciting marine life that I saw.

Highlights included seeing a weedy sea dragon, and of course my encounter with the seals and sealions. These playful creatures darted up to us and weaved around us, and certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we were.

just came across your blog by chance looking at images of sea dragons. i live in albany, and this is my diving backyard!! how priveliged am i? glad to see you also enjoyed the best of what albany has to offer!

It´s hard to believe all those pics really happened... but knowing you were there, I end up believing! And jealous too! But in a good way! Congratulations, they are fantastic!!Brasilian ocean is waiting for you to be kept by you!

Hey, thanks - and thanks for your correction - I will amend the title right away. I wanted to come and dive with you guys, but unfortunately my timing was out and you were going to be in Perth for the time I would be there. Shame. I'll have to come see you when I come back to Australia. I'd definitely take time to dive the South West again - it was a really pleasant surprise to see what was there. Hopefully I'll get a bit further along the coast too.

Awesome photo's Serena. One little nit-pick however. The sea dragon you saw was a Weedy Sea Dragon, not a Leafy Sea Dragon.
We run an dive operation in Bremer Bay, and we have both varieties. I can email you a photo of a true Leafy if you'd like.
It's good to see someone like yourself promoting diving on the South Coast. Many divers seem to think there is little to see, when the colours are exceptional. Good work
