Bidar

UPDATE - to all you fans of Bidar, I have recently made a second visit to the city, and taken lots for photographs, which you can find here. Enjoy.


Encouraged by the rewarding side trips I had taken from Mysore, I decided to go to the remote town of Bidar, tucked away in a northern corner of Karnataka. It took me 24 hours of travel to get there - two trains and a bus - but was well worth the effort.

There are a number of sites of interest that I missed in Bidar, and I hope one day to return.

these are the pics which attains the beauty of real bidar but not those pits hehehe but the pics u hav captured r realy heart calming and they makes me remember my bidar when i was studying in school....but now after my degree the bidar didnt remained same.....so thanxxxx once again for making me remember my childhood and funs serena....

Saad, I would love to take new photos of Bidar, but I have been back in England for the last three and a half years. However I will be returning to India in March, so I will try to revisit Bidar - I will check out some of the places people have recommended in the comments on this gallery. Serena

Its great to see Bidar.You have just included 20% of Bidar information.We do have a very good and beautifull places at Bidar. the main Places of BIdar like Gurudwara, Paapnaash, Naring jharana,etc..........., you must include these places. and also should include the pictures of Bidari arts.

Nice to see my native place but could u plz update the latest photos as far as my knowledge we had growth a lot so Bidar is not a village it is a multicultured City and every one will respect each other. We had growth a lot & we are around the world just go through individual house u will find one Engineer or Doctor working in diff country. Kindly we request u to update accordinlgy. I think the madrassa/madarsa issue is one of transliteration; various spellings are acceptable - just see this Wikepedia entry -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madrasah

As for wanting to "search the garbage" - I hardly had to search, rubbish is very difficult to avoid in India, and I think you are kidding yourself if you disagree. If you think this photo gives a bad impression, maybe you ought to help to keep your beautiful country and city clean, rather than complain when people photograph the rubbish that is there.

I take pictures of what I see - the negative as well as the positive; I'm sorry if this upsets you, Mohd, but I will not change.

I really enjoyed my visit to Bidar; I relished the fact that it is not visited by so many tourists, and had positive encounters with most of the people I met there. I would certainly recommend others to visit it. I could only spend two nights there, and I freely admit that I did not see everything there is to see there, but I found Bidar to be a lovely town. It's not perfect, but neither am I!

I hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures.

thanks for visiting my native bidar, and taking snaps of it but im confused whether u wanted to show bidar to the world or wanted to search the garbage of the beautiful and passionated city.... hope not so, but i think this photo gives a bad impression ...

I'll like to invite you once again to bidar... but a correction i wanted you to have
Madrassa... its not a madrassa, it is madarsa,, in english a school . centuries back it was the finest university in the world... here science, social and very subject was made to learn..
it will be better if u call it a university.
and i give u some more places in bidar where u can get even more snaps.

4.basvakalyan
visit it again along with all of us n ur friends

Hi, I am Subhash N.Beerge, its realy nice photos. But i think u have not visited Bidar properly, or may be some body has not shown u well. U have seen only one face of Bidar, first of all i want to tell it is not a remote place, one can term it as Crown of Karnataka. And it is less than 200 kms from Hyderabad. And i think u have not visited places like Astur,Basavkalyan etc.
