Longue Vue Water Gardens Restored

Bamboo Road on the western edge of New Orleans

Several feet of water sat for three weeks in the basement and gardens of Longue Vue.
It has been lovingly restored and is once again open to the public.
Once the home of cotton broker Edgar Stern and his wife, Edith Rosenwald Stern, an heir of the founders of Sears Roebuck, the house is owned by a Trust fund left by Mrs. Stern. It is a Museum of Art and Textiles and is furnished exactly as Mrs. Stern left it. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year and classes are held for children and adults in the art of gardening.
Our daughter's wedding reception was held here.
