Colors of the Sunset

Just out of the camera. No work done to it.
I was beating feet, so to speak, to get to the lake for this sunset. Seeing that I could not get to the spot on Lake Pontchartrain that I wanted because of the automobile traffic I chose a spot where I once chaired a committee to develop a linear park and bicycle and jogging trail. We planted trees, built several gazebos along the 10 mile stretch and the park was always filled with people, especially in early morning and evening. Since Katrina the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers cut down every tree (even though they were still standing tall and strong) and hauled dirt on the path and made a general mess.
THANK GOD THE CORPS CANNOT FOOL WITH THE SUNSET.

you have my sympathy. I know just how it feels to find that idiots have despoiled countryside that you care about.
beautiful sunset.

Yep...was a gorgeous sunset. Same thing happened to me! Glad it was beautiful in your neck of the woods too!

It was good you didn't reach your destination because you could hardly have done better than this. The inclusion of the silhouetted building on the side is perfect. Even the position of the street light worked out well. Very nice!

I meant sad because the cut down the trees and messed up the path.

This is gorgeous, Coleen. Thank goodness there are a few things the government can't mess us. That has to make you feel so sad.

Terrific, you captured it! Don't give the Corps any ideas. They've certainly managed to destroy almost everything else that gives us pleasure.

If they COULD find a way to do it....... another awesome sunset shot.

Great color, I was in the truck trying to get back to the office at Pascagoula to get off. Could not get out of the truck to take a picture. BEAUTIFUL.
