This is just as it came from the camera.
At my house on Perilloux Place the sunsets at this time of the year are very special. We are about 1000 feet or so from the Mississippi but separated by a high levee and many willow trees making it impossible to see the River from the house.
However, when the sunset is like this the entire sky lights up above the levee and we can see it from the dining table and my favorite expression is "the River is on fire." It occurs about 8 minutes after the sun has fallen beyond the horizon and a minute before the air turns blue.
To get this view I drive about three miles east to get nearer the banks of the River. Running up the levee and through the willows would find me there long after the sun had gone to bed.
