After Hurricane Katrina only two black males swans were left at Lafreniere Park. In February, two
females swans were acquired to keep the males company. For quite a while they would have nothing to do with one another.
One pair is now nesting on Marsh Island but this pair seems a bit shy or disinterested. That sometimes happens in an "arranged marriage."
